Schools and Colleges

Indecon have been involved with projects in schools and colleges since we first began trading. Working closely with surveyors, employer’s agents and architects, we have a recognised expertise in the provision and relocation of demountable class units alongside a “new build” capacity to suit varying budgets. We have provided stand alone buildings and extensions to existing premises. We have also carried out many more conventional refurbishments to both modern and older style schools. We enhanced our ability to service our Clients by providing a complete “design and build” service.

Most recently, we have successfully completed a range of new build projects for The London Borough of Redbridge, The London Borough of Tower Hamlets and Essex County Council. We have also considerable experience in the provision and transfer of relocatable units for Essex County Council. With the changes to funding systems, we are now directly involved with schools and colleges in a number of projects.

We are able to provide a complete service from the planning stage, building control applications, design and construction. With over twenty years of working in colleges as well as primary, infant and senior schools, Indecon has an appreciation of the special needs and requirements that are associated with work in this industry sector.

Seven Kings High School - Ilford, Essex

We at Indecon have developed close working relationships with local education establishments with which we are very often re-employed. Seven Kings High school is one such establishment.

• New Lecture Theatre- The Design and Construction of a lecture theatre in the school and the associated works.

• The new Media Studies Centre - The Design and Construction of a new media studies centre in the school and the associated works.

• New Science Laboratory - The provision of a new science laboratory involving the extension of the existing ground floor.
  Contract negotiated and in partnership with Client.
  
  
• Main Entrance and Foyer - The construction of an extended reception and office area to the main entrance of the school buildings and ancillary soft and hard landscaping.
  
  
• Library and Resource Centre - Adaptation of existing single storey building. Design & Build contract to provide a freestanding two storey steel frame structure providing new library and resource centre accommodation with multi facility functions.
  
  
• 6th Form common room extension - The extension to an existing facility using a steel portal frame.
  
  
• Medical centre and link walkway - The provision of Medical and ancillary facilities and the erection of a glazed link walk way between two existing buildings incorporating decorative and water features.

Winter Gardens Junior School - Essex

The provision of two classroom extensions in a separate block and the construction of a covered walkway to the existing premises.
